  holds a faculty appointment as Professor of Obstetrics\, Gynecology\, and
  Reproductive Medicine at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine.\n \nDr
 . Hershlag completed his undergraduate and graduate education training in 
 his native country\, Israel\, and graduated from the Hadassah Medical Scho
 ol in Jerusalem. While in medical school\, Dr. Hershlag was elected Direct
 or of Medical Education of the International Federation of Medical Student
 s Society (IFMSA). Following three years of a General Surgery residency at
  Hadassah\, Dr. Hershlag moved to the United States in 1984. Here\, he com
 pleted his Ob-Gyn residency at the George Washington University Medical Ce
 nter and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Yale University Sch
 ool of Medicine.\n \nDr. Hershlag has developed a rigorous research progra
 m at the center\, with several ongoing research projects. His research now
  focuses on the impact of genetics on infertility\, as well as fertility p
 reservation and prevention of cancer through genetic screening and PGD. He
  is also invested in access to fertility care and the ethics of reproducti
 ve technologies. He is a past member of the board of directors of RESOLVE:
  The National Infertility Association. Dr. Hershlag is the author of sixty
  original papers\, over 30 book chapters\, and a novel entitled\, Misconce
 ption. He is the recipient of several awards including Castle Connolly’s T
