MWCABC’s Outreach Program focuses on helping members of the Manhasset and nearby communities who are coping with breast cancer; whether newly diagnosed, being tested, undergoing treatment, or experiencing a recurrence. In addition, our Extended Cancer Care program provides assistance to women diagnosed with ovarian or other cancers.
The volunteers of the Outreach Committee include breast cancer survivors and members of MWCABC. We are committed to ensuring that each woman referred to us receives confidential emotional and compassionate assistance during the days and weeks following a breast cancer diagnosis or recurrence. The program is one of neighbor helping neighbor, friend helping friend, women helping women.
Through its Wellness Program Outreach offers a series of community programs including periodic lectures and days of renewal and hope for cancer survivors.
Our Outreach breast cancer services are primarily funded through grants received from the LI2Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer and the Manhasset Community Fund in addition to generous donations. Our Extended Cancer Care Program is funded through donations received and grants awarded by the Greentree Foundation.
