Every year the MWCABC Outreach Program is proud to partner with community providers to offer various wellness programs free of charge to its recipients facing a breast cancer diagnosis. The 2023 grants awarded to our partners in support of breast cancer recovery and survivorship are as follows:

Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program
✿ Provides transportation and food to needy clients to insure patient compliance with medical treatment.

CancerCare Breast Cancer Services of Long Island
✿ Individual Counseling and Live and Online Support Groups Services
Services are provided to assist individuals affected by breast cancer to cope with and manage the emotional and practical challenges presented by a breast cancer diagnosis, find reliable sources of information about their diagnosis and learn ways to better express their needs to their healthcare team.

Northwell Health
✿ Integrative Therapies at Monter Cancer Center
Provided to patients receiving chemotherapy, helps to lessen the pain of peripheral neuropathies, lower blood pressure, combat depression and reduce anxiety and fatigue.

✿ Breast Cancer Navigation and the Survivorship Program  
A program designed to deliver comprehensive care to breast cancer patients from diagnosis through post treatment survivorship.

Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center (JCC)
✿ Support/Exercise Group
For women with breast and other gynecological cancers, exercise is an effective intervention to improve quality of life and cardiorespiratory fitness.

Lean on Me Breast Cancer Network, Inc.
✿ Winter Serenity Wellness Retreat Day
A day designed to introduce women to unique coping strategies they might not have previously used
Date: Saturday, February 4th

Strength for Life
✿ Strength for Life Weekend Wellness Retreat
A retreat designed to help cancer patients and survivors improve their daily functional activities, quality of life & self esteem.
Dates: 1st retreat scheduled for Saturday, March 11th to Sunday, March 12th; three remaining retreats: TBD

The Cancer Institute at St. Francis Hospital
✿ The Picture of Health - Art Therapy Program for Cancer Patients and Caregivers
Helps to decrease anxiety, promote relaxation and express emotions.
Dates: 1st program scheduled for Tuesday, April 25th at 5:00pm; three remaining programs: TBD

✿ Nutrition and Cooking Programs
Cooking is therapeutic and a great way for patients and caregivers to gain a sense of control during an unsettled time.
Dates: TBD

Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center (JCC)
✿ Relax, Renew & Restore Retreat
A retreat designed to give breast/gynecologic cancer survivors and their caregivers a "vacation from cancer", even if it's for a brief few hours.
Date: September 2023

Berest Dance Center
✿ Ballet For Recuperation
Improves Neuropathy symptoms.

Northwell Health
Palliative Care Outreach Program
Funding for an in person national conference, a palliative medicine guest speaker at their quarterly meeting or a Grand Rounds presentation which will benefit breast cancer patients in the Unit or the like.
